COX-2: promoting tolerance
Article Abstract:
Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) appears to play a role in oral tolerance. Oral tolerance is the intestinal system's tolerance of foreign antigens in the food we eat and the bacteria that live in the gastrointestinal tract. COX-2 is involved in prostaglandin formation.

Article Abstract:
Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) is involved in immune tolerance to dietary and bacterial antigens in the gastrointestinal tract. Feeding mice a COX-2 inhibitor along with egg white lysozyme produced inflammatory changes in the intestinal mucosa.

T cells are just dying to accept grafts
Article Abstract:
The death of T cells via apoptosis seems to make the immune system tolerate the antigen they recognized. This information could be used to prevent people from rejecting transplanted organs.
