Calif. group developing doctor-assisted suicide proposal
Article Abstract:
A group called Californians Against Human Suffering plans to place an initiative for 'Death with Dignity' on the 1992 ballot. It favors laws to permit physicians to end the lives of terminally ill patients. Leaders of the California Medical Association (CMA) claim sympathy for dying patients, but they do not choose to participate in euthanasia. A similar petition failed to pass in Washington State.
