Cementing resin-bonded fixed partial dentures: a simplified technique
Article Abstract:
A modified, custom tray may keep saliva away from the teeth that will support a resin-bonded fixed partial denture (RBFPD) while the prosthesis is cemented into place. During RBFPD cementation, the area around the supporting teeth must be saliva-free to enable the prosthesis to bond. Dentists can prepare a customized, full-arch tray over an RBFPD cast. The borders of the tray nearest to the cheek and tongue are extended to cover at least half of all upper or lower teeth. The dentist cuts a window in the tray to expose the teeth that will support the RBFPD. A sufficient amount of the tray and supporting material is removed to allow RBFPD insertion and placement. A tongue guard is made of tray material and attached to the side of the tray nearest to the tongue. The dentist should insert the tray and verify that it blocks saliva leakage. During the cementation process, the tray should maintain its position.

Fabrication of immediate transitional denture for patients with fixed partial dentures
Article Abstract:
Dentists describe a technique for fitting partial dentures that involves extracting all teeth in one visit and fitting a temporary denture during the same visit. Traditionally, the teeth are extracted over a period of six to eight weeks. The same-day technique still requires several weeks of preliminary work before the teeth are extracted and the denture is fitted.

A retrospective clinical evaluation of two-unit cantilevered resin-bonded fixed partial dentures
Article Abstract:
A study evaluates performances of two-unit cantilevered resin-bonded fixed partial dentures (RBFPDs). It is found that there is 98.4 percent clinical retention rate of the RBFPDs.
