Article Abstract:
The National Kidney Foundation believes many people have the early stages of chronic kidney disease but are not aware of it. In one study of diabetics and patients with high blood pressure, the foundation discovered that 47% had the early stages of chronic kidney disease but only 3% knew it. The foundation expects the number of people with chronic kidney disease to increase substantially as the population ages.
