Clueless in the commons: despite the government's hunger to transform the NHS, it simply has no idea how the replace the internal market
Article Abstract:
The key mechanism for transforming the NHS is commissioning, and the new administration has plans to save money on bureaucracy, therefore it is likely there will be fewer health authorities and trusts. The administration is committed to an NHS which is primary care led but there is already confusion with the new style commissioning system. There is also a shortage of the capital that is needed for rationalization.
