Article Abstract:
Logan, Utah physicians are defecting from the health plans of Intermountain Health Care Inc. (IHC), hoping to deter employers from signing on with the non-profit giant. IHC owns 23 hospitals in Utah and offers health plans to only 12% of Cache County residents, but Logan physicians cite IHC's introduction of a closed-panel health maintenance organization and increasingly dictatorial management style as evidence of its encroaching tendencies.
