Effects of Estrogen with and without progestin on urinary incontinence
Article Abstract:
The effects of menopausal hormone therapy on the incidence and severity of symptoms of stress, urge, and mixed urinary incontinence (UI) in healthy postmenopausal women are assessed. Conjugated equine estrogen alone and CEE + MPA increased the risk of UI among continent women and worsened the characteristics of UI among symptomatic women after 1 year is concluded.

Article Abstract:
Estrogen deficiency in middle age is postulated to account, at least in part, for some higher incidence of Alzheimer Disease (AD) in women than men and may constitute a risk factor for AD. The harmful neutral effects of estrogen in the WHI and WHIMS trials are discussed.
