ErbB2 receptor tyrosine kinase signaling mediates early demyelination induced by leprosy bacilli
Article Abstract:
Previously established myelinated rat Schwann cell-neuron cocultures were used to study the Schwann cell signaling pathways in response Mycobactrerium leprae ( M. leprae) attachment in vitro models. The study provides evidence that M. leprae-induced demyelination is a result of direct bacterial litigation to and activation of ErbB2 receptor tyrosine kinase signaling without ErbB2-ErbB3 heterodimerization.

A peptide inhibitor of c-Jun N-terminal kinase proyects against excitotoxicity and cerebral ischemia
Article Abstract:
Excitotoxic mechanisms is considered the reason for neuronal death in cerebral ischemia. A strong protection in two models was obtained of middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO): transient occlusion in adult mice and permanent occlusion in 14-d-old rat pups.

Mesenchymal stem cells modified with Akt prevent remodeling and restore performance of infracted hearts
Article Abstract:
A strategy for cardiac repair has been proposed, followed by myocardial damage. It was observed that mesenchymal stem cells genetically enhance with Akt1 could repair infarcted myocardium, prevent remodeling, and nearly normalize cardiac performance.
