Long term mortality and morbidity related to degree of damage following the 1998 earthquake in America
Article Abstract:
Researchers conducted a study to investigate the relation of mortality and morbidity to personal loss and damage following the 1998 earthquake in Armenia. A population of 35,043 individuals who survived the earthquake were followed for a period of 4 years. Within the first 6 months, the highest number of deaths from various causes were observed. The study further revealed that individuals with increased levels of family and material loss were at increased risk of heart disease.

Serum fatty acids and the risk of fatal cancer
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to examine the relation between serum fatty acids and cancer among 108 middle-aged men who died of cancer and 215 men without cancer who were enrolled in the Multiple Risk Factor Intervention Trial between 1973 and 1976. Researchers found no evidence that increased dietary intake or serum levels of polyunsaturated fatty acids associated with an increased risk of fatal cancer among these men.
