Clinical studies presented at international AIDS meeting
Article Abstract:
Summaries of a number of reports on AIDS and the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) that were given at the Eighth International Conference on AIDS are presented. Several of the summaries report the effectiveness of drugs such as adjunctive corticosteroids or a combination of AZT (zidovudine) and acyclovir in battling HIV. A very effective urine test that detects HIV antibodies was also presented at the conference.
