Whose job is it to care?
Article Abstract:
The recent changes in the structure of the U.K.'s National Health Service have important repercussions for the kind of care provided by nurses. The promotion of self-care could be seen by nurses as threatening both their professional and personal role. If nurses are to understand the concept of self-care they must be fully aware of the nature of their relationships with patients and should work in partnership towards mutually beneficial objectives.
