N.J. doctors ask to form union, say they're 'HMO employees'
Article Abstract:
A group of approximately 200 New Jersey family physicians and specialists have asked the US National Labor Relations Board for the ability to unionize. The physicians argue the health maintenance organization that they work for has tight controls over their private practices which relegates them to 'employee' status. The board will hear their case on Dec 8, 1997.
