Gun owners, security guards don't increase threat of violence
Article Abstract:
The advice of a occupational safety and health director is presented in response to a question on the extent to which violence in the workplace can be handled with security guards and gun ownership. It is suggested that the most important procedure is the presence of policies and procedures to deal with identified risks and needs.

Work zone deaths reach record high;congress calls for action
Article Abstract:
Issues relating to deaths in work zones in the United States are presented. Statistics announced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration show that 1999 saw an all-time high of 872 people, killed and 85% of these were car drivers or passengers.
