HazCom training goes hi-tech
Article Abstract:
Several factors need to be considered by safety managers planning to utilize computer solutions to meet the training requirements of OSHA's Hazard Communication standard. Safety professionals should evaluate their company's training objectives, logistics concerns and resources. They should also determine the number of people to be trained. In addition, managers should determine the various types of training methods that can be utilized to accomplish the training program.

Article Abstract:
A veteran compliance officer of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) provides an overview of the typical job-site visitbeing conducted by inspectors of the federal agency. Ron Payne is based in the Chicago North area office of the OSHA and conducts mostly construction-site inspections. He normally makes up to 50 inspections a month, which take from 15minutes to two weeks or more. In rare instances, Payne's inspection can last several months.
