High frequency of alternative splicing of human genes participating in the HIV -1 life cycle
Article Abstract:
Splice forms with different biologic roles or missing protein domains implicated in the interaction with HIV-1, may be generated by alternative splicing. The role of splice variations in HIV -1 disease by specific silencing using siRNA targeted to the various splice forms is investigated.

Immunoprophylaxis to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV-1
Article Abstract:
The risk of mother-to child transmission (MTCT) of HIV can be reduced by antiretroviral therapy. The passive and active immunoprophylaxis products for the potential use in neonatal chemoprophylaxis would pose an attractive alternative for the prevention.
