Hold your heads up
Article Abstract:
Eastern European women are often underpaid, work long hours and perform menial task, while male counterparts are paid more and have a greater say in the workplace. Religious countries tend to deal more harshly with women, both in the home and at work. Nurses are totally subordinate to male doctors, and have little say in the daily workings of health facilities. Younger nurses are deciding to improve the lifestyle of their work colleagues by introducing networking groups and the chance to enhance skills.

Gray's elegy
Article Abstract:
Phil Gray is the new chief executive of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and, following eight years as director of labour relations at the RCN, he is well versed in pay negotiation politics. He has praised the RCN's success in emphasizing the increasing problems of recruitment and retention. The CSP has 34,000 members and recruits around 96% of practising physiotherapists. Gray aims to continue to work alongside other professions allied to medicine.

Distinctly valuable
Article Abstract:
Health services and nursing practises are an intricate part of the medical profession, although nursing is often overlooked in importance when compared to the success of medicines. Nursing should be valued as a core skill, without which medicine would not succeed.
