In a class of their own
Article Abstract:
Financial constraints are threatening school nursing services despite their potential for health promotion work. The South Western regional Health Authority plans to replace school nurses with peripatetic health teams. Nurses fear trusting relationships will suffer and potential problems may be missed. Plan to introduce a development programme to raise the profile of school nurses may be too late. Morale in the service is low as nurses feel their role is not appreciated.

Relative values
Article Abstract:
Dealing with the demands of patients' relatives can be very difficult for nurses. Learning to empathize with the relatives rather than becoming defensive can help in these situations, and patient advocate services are also useful. Tips on coping with relatives are included.
