Article Abstract:
UK hospitals are preparing for winter and the millennium celebrations, which could put more pressure on them. The Leeds Health Authority has set aside over 3 million pounds sterling to be divided between hospitals as part of its 1999/2000 Emergency Care Plan to cover the period from November 1999-March 2000. The authority, general practitioners and the trusts hope to work together to reduce admissions and hospital stays.
