Lactobacillus acidophilus modulates intestinal pain and induces opioid and cannabinoid receptors
Article Abstract:
The oral administration of specific Lactobacillus strains has induced the expression of [mu]-opioid and cannabinoid receptors in intestinal epithelial cells and mediated analgesic functions in the gut of the patients with irritable bowel syndrome. The results have shown that the microbiology of the intestinal tract has influenced the visceral perception, and new approaches are provided for the treatment of abdominal pain and irritable bowel syndrome.

Aberrant cannabinoid signaling impairs oviductal transport of embryos
Article Abstract:
The cause of Ectopic pregnancy, a major reproductive health issue, is embryo retention in the fallopian tube. It is shown that genetic or pharmacologic silencing of cannibinoid receptor CB 1 causes retention of a large number of embryos in the mouse oviduct, eventually leading to pregnancy failure.

Direct suppression of CNS autoimmune inflammation via the cannabinoid receptor C[B.sub.1] on neurons and C[B.sub.2] on auto reactive T cells
Article Abstract:
The role of cannabinoid receptors C[B.sub.1] and C[B.sub.2] in stabilizing the autoimmunity of the central nervous system is explained. An animal model suffering from multiple sclerosis is used to investigate the roles played by the receptors.
