Lichen planus
Article Abstract:
Lichen planus is an itchy, non-infectious skin rash of unknown cause that usually affects middle-aged adults. Lichen planus appears as purple or reddish-purple bumps on skin, which is often mistaken for other skin condition, there might be permanent change of skin color after the rash disappears and the treatments include antihistamines, topical retinoic acid and topical corticosteroids.

Skin problems are often underestimated as they are considered to be minor ailments, but many a times it can cause embarrassment, frustration, low self-esteem, and social isolation. Views of various nurses in dermatology are presented as nurses play a vital role in educating key target groups of children, adolescents and parents in their early diagnosis and treatment.
