Article Abstract:

Elderly individuals who choose to live in life care communities may regret their decision later. Life care communities are residential communities for elderly individuals or couples. Their purpose is to provide elderly people with a secure place to live and the opportunity to meet other people in their age group. They usually provide on-site health care facilities and a wide variety of social and cultural activities. Individuals may find it difficult at first to adjust to leaving their home and long-term friends, but usually adjust after becoming involved in their new community. One large drawback of a geriatric community is that people often have to cope with the loss of their friends. Individuals also have increased exposure to different types of illnesses that affect the elderly. This type of exposure can intensify the fear of disability and death in elderly individuals.

Article Abstract:

Thoughtfulness is an often overlooked component of first aid treatment during workplace accidents. Gestures of empathy from the company could spell the difference between sustained good labor relations or a lawsuit after the accident. Employees who felt they were neglected during the course of their disability are the ones most likely to take legal action against their employers. For this reason, thoughtfulness is just as important as having the right equipment and staff well versed in first aid.
