Triumphant return in a new role
Article Abstract:
Nurses working with people with learning difficulties have found new directions in the 1990s. They have taken on new roles, including health promotion and support of parents, and they have moved into new environments, including local authorities and housing associations. Members of the profession had seen some of their functions transferring to social workers, but their new roles are definitely health-based. There is an ever-increasing range of options open to someone who has specialized in learning disability nursing, as well as many associated training opportunities.
