Lowering drug costs, improving care in Azerbaijan

The United Nation's Children's Fund (UNICEF) has had great success with its Primary Health Care Revitalization Project in Azerbaijan, enhancing access to primary care and reducing the cost of vital medications. UNICEF's program has also encouraged greater use of health facilities among citizens.

A drug policy that bears fruit

An effective pharmaceutical policy requires cooperative efforts from all aspects of society, ranging from the community involvement to government support. The community should assure equal access to drugs, while the government creates legislation and regulations.
