Management of a central venous catheter
Article Abstract:
A central venous catheter can be used to administer fluids and to check and control the central venous pressure. Nurses dealing with this type of catheter should use gloves and an aseptic technique. The catheter site must be observed at least daily for signs of localized discharge, redness or swelling.
