Marburg vaccine shows promise
Article Abstract:
Scientists from the US and Canada are developing a new vaccine that can prevent deadly hemorrhagic fever in monkeys after exposure to the Marburg virus, a naturally virulent pathogen that could be manipulated for use as an agent of bioterrorism. The possibility of the vaccine being an effective post-exposure treatment, offers the team hope for its potential use in humans.
