Medicare panel opposes cut in practice expense values
Article Abstract:
The newly formed Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) will make several specific suggestions that run counter to Health Care Financing Administration proposals on Medicare practice expense values. In its first yearly report to Congress, due in Mar 1998, MedPAC will express opposition to HCFA's call for a comprehensive 50% reduction in practice expense values for office visits that are nonsurgical and provided in connection with a physician visit.
