Former Sen John Glenn's second travel to space is concrete proof that physical well-being is important to older people. Glenn's excellent health allowed him to qualify for the space flight despite his age. Other people should emulate Glenn and start giving importance to their health and physical fitness.

A weight training program for the aged also works to reduce the effects of senile atrophy. Muscle tone decreases with age and could be partly restored by a regular weight training program which targets muscle groups that need to be restored or strengthened.
