Nursing in health networks: direction and development
Article Abstract:
The New York and American Organizations of Nurse Executives held an Open Space meeting to examine the changing role of nurse administrators in the new integrated health-care network environment. Participants identified the value of nursing to patient care. Action plans were developed for optimizing nursing within multidisciplinary teams and across multiple settings, and standardizing measurement. Nurses in a network setting work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care throughout an episode and practice ongoing health maintenance.
