Drug abuse treatment in prisons and jails
Article Abstract:
Various facets of drug abuse treatment in prisons and jails are presented. An overview of the current status of drug abuse treatment in prisons and jails is presented while certain treatment approaches are discussed. Evaluation issues such as case management, community follow-up and methodological considerations are reviewed. Recommendations on treatment interventions, research, evaluation, demonstrations, management information, community linkage, training, technical assistance and funding are also given.

Avoiding the quality assurance boondoggle in drug treatment programs through total quality management
Article Abstract:
Total Quality Management (TQM) is discussed in the context of improving treatment quality of drug abuse treament programs. TQM maximizes the efficacy of quality-improvement strategies which include supervisory review, internal program evaluations and standard quality assurance. The mechanisms of successfully applying TQM to improve managementt of drug treatment programs are discussed in detail.
