Oswald T. Avery and the Copley Medal of the Royal Society
Article Abstract:
Oswald T. Avery received the Copley Medal from the Royal Society on Nov. 8, 1945, for his discovery of DNA as the genetic material. The report on his discovery first appeared in his historical paper, 'Studies on the Chemical Nature of the Substance Inducing Transformation of Pneumococcal Types'. Although the proposal to select Avery for the award was neglected initially, ultimately the Society decided to award him the medal. Avery, being a modest personality, even refused to appear for the award ceremony and dedicated the honorarium for the advancement of research.

Mentoring the entrepreneur
Article Abstract:
Nursing administrators are increasingly turning to entrepreneurial roles since contemporary health organizations offer them a narrow range of career opportunities. Would-be entrepreneurs need to carefully assess their performance strengths and weaknesses, opportunities for business development, and ability to tolerate uncertainty.
