Transportation bill would lower DUI blood-alcohol level
Article Abstract:
A Congressional transportation bill that has more than $200 billion in pork barrel funding for local and state transportation projects also contains a strong-arm clause that forces all states to adopt 0.08% blood-alcohol content as the minimum limit for determining when a motor vehicle driver is legally drunk. The clause would force states to adopt the standard or risk losing a percentage of transportation funding.
