Pill of promise
Article Abstract:
Wyeth is launching a new depression treatment which it claims offers much better speed of action, efficacy and safety than other anti-depressant drugs. It is said to be as effective as the old tricyclic anti-depressants but with none of the unpleasant side effects. Its launch comes at a time when the great excitement which surrounded fluoxetine comes venlafaxine (Efexor) is beginning to fade.
