Article Abstract:
Even the limited and simple early uses of prenatal screening, for prevention of Down syndrome and sickle-cell anemia, presented ethical dilemmas. Further advancements in detection raises the spectre of eugenics, and of technology being used to deliver only 'perfect' infants to the marketplace.
