Prescription drug abuse by teens increasing
Article Abstract:
The National Household Survey on Drug Abuse shows that in the year 2001, nearly 3 million 12-to-15 year olds and 7 million 18-to-25 year olds reported abusing prescription medications. The Food and Drug Administration and Substance Abuse Treatment at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) are designing efforts to raise awareness about the increasing rates of abuse.
