Save the children
Article Abstract:
The National Commission of Inquiry into the Prevention of Child Abuse conducted a two-year investigation into child abuse in the UK. One of the Commission's findings, in the 1996 report, is that many incidences of child abuse are not identified. Only 32% of adults, abused as children, had told someone about their plight during their childhood. The Commission believes that over a million children a year are at risk in the UK and that much abuse is preventable. Nurses and health visitors have a responsibility to overcome barriers and develop solutions to prevent child abuse.

Planning effects
Article Abstract:
Helping young mothers to establish successful breast feeding involves different elements being brought together in a care plan. These elements include assessment-diagnosis, establishing priority needs and setting nursing goals. In maternity care, patients are generally healthy, and need help only with natural psychological processes. Against this background, a holistic approach to care is entirely appropriate.
