Self-esteem and stress in mental health nurses
Article Abstract:
Self-esteem can play a key role in limiting the impact of stress on mental health nurses. The main elements within self-esteem are how the individual feels he or she is viewed by others, how the individual rates himself or herself in comparison with others and how the individual draws conclusions about himself or herself from seeing the outcomes of particular actions. Research indicates that there is a need to boost understanding of self-esteem. It is also important to establish whether boosting levels of self-esteem will help mental health nurses to cope more effectively with stress.
