Small businesses: do your safety programs measure up?
Article Abstract:
Many work-related fatalities happen in small businesses. Bureau of Labor Statistics data indicate that businesses with fewer that 11 employees account for 33% of all fatalities. Small business owners and safety experts attribute the problem to lack of resources necessary to ensure workplace safety. Fortunately, small businesses can improve their safety programs by seeking the help of professional organizations, insurance companies and the OSHA.

How to produce an effective safety newsletter
Article Abstract:
An internal safety newsletter is effective only if it interests employees enough to read it. Focusing on news about employees and soliciting their participation help maintain this interest. Written simply and laid out in an appealing and readable design, a newsletter can get information across effectively. The frequency and method of distribution should depend on the most comfortable arrangement for employees.
