Spot check
Article Abstract:
Many people suffer from acne vulgaris at some point in their lives so nurses may perceive it as a trivial condition. However, the condition can have major physical and psychological effects for the sufferer and may limit employment prospects. Mild acne often responds to topical treatment with products which include benzoyl peroxide. Moderate acne requires additional systemic drugs including tetracycline, erythromycin and hormonal products. The only drug available for acne which does not respond to these treatments in isotretinoin, but this can have severe side effects.

Sore points
Article Abstract:
District nurses and wheelchair therapists in Merton and Sutton Community National Health Service Trust, UK, are cooperating on a project to reduce pressure sores in wheelchair-bound clients. They collaborated with other healthcare professionals to produce a policy framework for pressure sore management and prevention, and introduced a pressure management programme in 1995. The service is more efficient due to better communication, shared knowledge, better equipment information and access, and improved client coverage.
