Nurses need to combine backgrounds in nursing, academic achievement, and experimental awareness to help their careers progress. Business competency and nursing experience create a well-prepared leader in the health care environment. Nurses have a tradition of leadership in health care, and that role is best continued by matching the level of care to the community's needs.

The new entrepreneurial foundation for the nurse executive
Article Abstract:
The health care industry is changing rapidly as the 20th century closes, and nurse executives fill appropriate roles to act as entrepreneurs who can take advantage of those changes. Nurse executives need to utilize their awareness, understand the health care environment, evaluate their education and characteristics, and proceed under principles of shared governance.
