T-cell activation and memory phenotypes in cerebrospinal fluid during HIV infection
Article Abstract:
Subgroups of T cells in paired cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and blood specimens from HIV-infected and uninfected persons is characterize to determine CSF T-cell phenotypes in HIV infection and to determine how CSF T-cell relate to blood T cells with and without HIV infection. Identifying activated and resting, and memory and naive T-cell subsets in CSF and blood using the markers CD38/HLA-DR and CD45RA/CD621 characterize CD4 and CD8 T-cell subsets.

HIV-producing T cells in cerebrospinal fluid
Article Abstract:
A flow cytometric assay was developed that detects HIV-1-producing T cells by identifying intracellular p24 HIV-1 antigen, to determine whether HIV-1 producing T cells appear in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and whether their percentage and number correlate with viral load in CSF. Resultant white cell counts and viral load in CSF may obtain from systemic inflammation and immune activation.

High-risk sexual behavior in adults with genotypically proven antiretroviral-resistant HIV infection
Article Abstract:
Antiretroviral-treated patients with drug resistance in the study of the consequences of protease inhibitor era, a clinic-based cohort of HIV-infected adults that was examined. The presence of definable risk factors for unsafe sex shows a role for targeted than for broad intervention when resources are limited.
