Taste of Medicare reform
Article Abstract:
House Republicans are in the process of unveiling their Medicare reform plan, which includes phasing in premiums for Part B recipients and offering seniors the option of managed care. In addition, wealthy recipients would be required to pay higher premiums. Physicians would receive lower payments under the standard Medicare plan and would be vulnerable to further cuts if the program was not meeting its budget target of $270 billion in savings over seven years. Further details of the plan are discussed.
