The antibacterial drugs market
Article Abstract:
Big pharmas view the development of antibacterial drugs as increasingly unattractive due to short antibacterial drug lifecycles, which increases the risk to developers, restricts sales growth, and prioritizes the need for intensive lifecycle-management strategies. All of these factors affected the growth rate in several major pharma markets, which has slowed to a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of just 5% from 2001-2005.
