The diminishing role of nurses in hands-on care
Article Abstract:
UK nurses are moving away from the traditional role of carer towards specialist nursing providers, leaving patient care in the hands of nursing assistants. The management of patient's bodily functions has been taken over by nursing assistants, removing one of the key elements of nurses. Many nurses regret the move away from the physical side of the patient/nurse relationship, although nurses are pleased to be able to further their career progression through education.

Article Abstract:
Nursing practitioners and nurse teachers must try to stop the quality of nursing education from declining. Modern education is based on the teacher altering learning to meet the needs of individual students. Although students now spend three times as much time learning under Project 2000, the quality of education has decreased.

Improved by degrees
Article Abstract:

This would be due to the combination of nursing care and undergraduate education, which would create a research-minded thinker.
