Genetically modified cells, or how some cancers occur
Article Abstract:
An awareness by the nursing profession of the genetic causes of cancer can help the profession to give the right care to patients and their families. There are various genes which suppress cancer. Mutated genes can cause disease such as breast cancer, which can run in families and even result in some women undergoing mastectomies as a form of prevention. Colorectal cancer can also have genetic causes. It is important that there is regular screening when there is a high risk of cancer because of family history.
