A critical difference
Article Abstract:
Mark Collier's article about the treatment of patients receiving kinetic therapy did not stress the dangers of tissue damage. Patients may experience tissue damage to their heels if care is not taken to avoid friction between the body and the surface of the table. Patients with spinal injuries may damage tissues at the back of their heads. Therefore, a gel pad should be used as a pillow. Care should be taken that patients with an endotracheal tube do not damage the corners of their mouths as the table rotates.

Too slap happy
Article Abstract:
The nursing profession ought to realise that a lot of injuries of women patients attending accident and emergency departments are the result of domestic violence, and that they could need long-term support. Nurses should not assume that a patient who shows signs of defensiveness and over-excitedness is being difficult, but should realise they there may be other reasons for their attitude. Nursing staff interviewed about the situation agree that changes are required, and admit that they do not take action.
