An alternative vision
Article Abstract:
There are around 1 million people in the U.K, who suffer from some kind of visual impairment. There are many publications on visual impairment but few are written by sufferers. To redress the balance, a group of visually impaired people in Basildon set up a support group, helped by Essex County Council's social services department. It was agreed that the group would disband once it had carried out its aims, which included writing a booklet to communicate the feelings of members and to raise awareness of the visually impaired.

The vision of LTC in state veterans facilities
Article Abstract:
The goal of providing long-term care (LTC) for veterans may be possible by creating a nursing service that is focused on patients and on the future. Four veterans homes in Nebraska decided to collaborate to provide LTC to veterans. Local health care professionals were interviewed to find out what they thought was actually needed in terms of LTC and what issues needed addressing. The ideas of outside experts helped clarify insiders' views and assuaged anxieties.
