Companies operating 24 hours a day should establish an optimum shiftwork arrangement to ensure the health and safety of their workers and enhance productivity. This requires serious consideration of the several types of shifting methods, including fixed and rotating. Another important consideration is the effect of the work environment and a particular shift on the employee's sleep cycle and personal life.
