Article Abstract:
Stopping transmission of HIV to new partners is a concern of HIV prevention for positive individuals. The study encourages a broader agenda for prevention for positive persons, considering imitative transmission, mental health consequences, and problematic adjustment with the infected person's network.

The state of Maryland has created an HIV patient registry that does not include the patients' names. Iinstead, a unique identifier (UI) is used based on the last 4 digits of the Social Security number, date of birth, and race.
