Understanding your cancer diagnosis: what you need to know
Article Abstract:
There are more than 100 types of cancer which are named according to the type of tissue they develop from. The most common groups of cancer are carcinoma, sarcoma, and lymphoma and leukemia. Carcinoma develops from cells covering the body, such as the skin. Sarcoma occurs in connective tissues such as bones and muscles. Lymphoma starts in lymph glands of the immune system. Leukemia develops in same cells as lymphoma and also in bone marrow blood cells.

Colon cancer screening: early detection is key
Article Abstract:
Colon cancer, the second-leading cancer-related type of death, is a slow-progressing disease, so regular check-ups are important for early diagnosis. Guidelines for screening are more liberal because of the death rate and five types of tests are used to diagnose the disease.

Colon cancer screening: comparing your options for early detection

Colorectal cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer deaths but is also a curable cancer. Screening tests for early detection of colorectal cancer are described, including digital rectal exam, fecal occult blood test and rigid proctoscopy.
