Telecommuting companies are faced with the issue of managing worker-compensation risks. Employers can effectively address the issue and save on work-compensation costs by making employees sign an agreement designed to guard their safety and limit employer liability. Considerations in formulating the agreement include employment hours, mail process, workstation standards, leaving premises, travelling telecommuters and injury reporting procedures.

Workers-comp carve outs: what are they?
Article Abstract:
Workers compensation carve outs are compensation programs that are collectively bargained by both management and employees. Carve outs address such concerns as the type of medical network to be employed among others and is an effective tool for dispute avoidance. Collectively bargained programs are effective but they are not the answer to all occupational health and safety disputes.
